The guidance below explains how to share media, embed media to your learning log and link to media.
Share Media
By default, any media you create or upload will only be accessible to yourself. To make media accessible to your peers, tutor and / or assessor, locate your video via the ‘My Folder’ section on the Panopto homepage, as shown in the screenshot below.
Hovering your cursor over the video in the folder will reveal icons for editing and settings, select the 'Share icon, as shown in the screenshot below.
Within the pop-up interface, you can share media with specific individuals using the 'Add people or groups' option.
Alternatively, you can select the blue 'Change' option to make broader accessibility changes. This option is advised if you wish to make a video accessible to your peers and for assessment purposes. The available options are as follows:
-
Your Organisation (Unlisted) - Allows any user within OCA to access your video when provided with a link. This option also enables access to your video via an embedded module. Note that the 'Unlisted' label prevents the video from being searchable via Panopto; this limits access to only users who have the link.

Embed Media
As with sharing your media above, hover your cursor over the video and select the 'Share' icon.
Located under the 'Who can access this video heading', select the 'Embed' option, as shown in the screenshot below.
You can now select any appropriate options, but we advise keeping the default settings. Finally, select 'Copy Embed Code'.
With the embed code now copied, navigate to your learning log and create a new post, or edit the existing post that you'd like to embed the video in. You will need to insert a 'Custom HTML' block, into which you can paste the embed code; see the WordPress Custom HTML Block Support Page for more information.
Linking Media
As with sharing and embedding media, select the 'Share' icon on the video that you'd like to link to.
Located under the 'Who can access this video heading', select the 'Copy Link', as shown in the screenshot below.
With the link now copied, you can share it across various platform such as email, OCA Learn forums and / or your learning log.
