OCA Spaces has the functionality to upload a file that can be downloaded by visitors via the 'File' block. Follow the step-by-step guidance below:
1. In a new or existing post, insert a 'File' block by either selecting the 'Add block' icon (+) and searching for 'File' or typing '/file', as shown in the screenshots below.
2. You can then upload your file by selecting the 'Upload' button, as shown in the screenshot below. If you've already uploaded your file via the Media Library, as outlined in the Where can I upload media to my learning log? article, you can select it by choosing the 'Media Library' button.
There is a 64MB file upload limit, so if your file exceeds this limit, you may wish to copy the contents directly into a learning log post, or try to reduce the file size by, for example, reducing the number of images or compressing a PDF using the Adobe Acrobat Online Compress PDF Files Tool.
3. Repeat this process if you wish to upload multiple files.
It is important to note that although there is no restriction on the file type that can be uploaded, you should be mindful of the application / programme required to open the file on the user end. For example, an Apple Pages document will require users to have an Apple device and use the Pages software, so should ideally be converted to PDF before uploading.
